Mine has.
It’s science fiction. I’m over 70,000 words into it. I know – very generally – what I want to have happen, but there are a lot of intertwining story-lines now, and a lot characters, too – in different geographical locations, doing different things, and I’m having a hard time getting them in the places they need to be…
Honestly, I think this is partly why I started this blog now. It gives me something else to do besides go back to the novel, drop it, go back to it, etc…
I’d like to throw the whole thing in the river right about now, but I won’t. Because I love my characters (the good ones) and I really want the best for them, in the end.
Now I’m thinking – I have a few short story ideas percolating up. Maybe I’ll just write one of those instead.

Don’t you just hate when that happens? I found myself planning to making a stand alone novel into a series just so I could plan something else. Do you do something specail to get back on track? Or just wait it out?
Are you currently working on a novel?
As for being off-track with mine, I’m not sure how to fix it just yet, but I’ve invested too much time to just toss it aside.
I have one that I need to rewrite the middle because of a computer crash and improper backup and I’m working on another. I go between the two when I’m stuck, but that doesn’t always help getting on track.
