Natalie Goldberg says, "yes" to that (in her book Writing down the bones)...she says writers will often revisit themes again and again until, through writing about them enough times, we work through them to something new.

Good luck!

That's right. Go ahead. If you're writing that story, it means something. There can never be too many angles for a theme.

If you were to search your computer for all documents titled with a ".doc" extension, for example, the operating system would show you all of those files in the file explorer. It is not changing their location then, either. But if you deleted or renamed files in the search response, the changes would be made to the original files.

Your files were saved where you originally put them. The "Recently Changed" folder is not a true location, but behaves as sort of a pre-set search function to find your files that have been used lately. It is meant to be a convenient way to get back to those files and start working where you left off.

Hello Sir/Madam
I too like wordpress very much. As, I am a software developer, i have created some of the websites using html, css, php, javascript. I am also interested about blogs. As I am new here in the field of Blog and else. So, I dont know how and where to create my Blog. So I am not able to create my own posts or site like writting as u have. I dont know even the process how to create here. Though I have created some site with wordpress but never blogged like this as u have. Your writting discovers that wordpress is useful and it has so many features to help bloggers that is really a good information. It is my opinion if you had written about where and how to do it and what is the procedure then it would have been more useful and increased more interest for ur readers.

I often (relatively speaking) dream stories with plots and everything. Sometimes I'll dream only the beginning of a story.

The last "story" dream I had was about a bank robbery going bad when one of the robbers has a stroke in the middle of the heist. He's the older one of the bunch. Suddenly, the robbery becomes a rescue of sorts. But not all the robbers are in agreement that this guy is worthy of rescue. They can't leave him, however, because he'll be a trail back to them. One wants to shoot him and be done with it. Some of the bank staff want the robbers to just leave him, afraid they'll shoot him later and dump the body. One of them is a pretty young teller who makes a connection with one of the robbers, which creates a riff in the gang and with some of the other bank staff. Her ex-boyfriend works at the bank and is getting pissed off at watching her flirt with the robber, but he's too much of a coward to speak up. There's a lot of conflict. The story takes place in a small town, but I'm not sure when.

What's funny is my plan was to write it from the perspective of the stroke victim, but in telling it to you just now I realize the stroke victim should probably be incapacitated throughout the story.

I'm still waiting for the rest of the story to be revealed in another dream. :)

It's a shame that writing pays so little. I remember taking a feature writing course at Ryerson University and our prof. said that the average "per word" rate hasn't changed since he started out in 1970. He went on to say that even top Canadian freelance writers, who are published all the time in various newspapers and top-rated magazine are lucky if they can pull down over $50K annually. Not very encouraging.

Nevertheless, for doing something one loves, most are not too concerned about the money end of it. I have a part-time gig writing and editing a national trade magazine. Fortunately, they pay me very well.

My dream employment would be to write and take photographs for fun and profit, along with offering a side dish of editing services. :)

Well, so far I made about $53 and they did pay me exactly on time and according to their payment guidelines, so it's definitely not a scam.

If you're considering writing for them, then go for it, but I strongly recommend reading all of the guidelines through first, because there are conditions on what things they pay for (not everything), how much they pay (differs from person to person for the same wok) and whether they pay at all (you have to earn a writing star by your name).

Very cool. I wasn't aware such a thing existed. I wonder if there's money in it.

Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

I think you need to go where the story takes you. Sharing themes seems to be common to authors. That's part of what makes each writer distinct.

Robert Sawyer's probably already written it. :)

If you're interested in seeing a sci-fi movie that actually has an original premise, surprisingly enough, check out "Moon" staring Sam Rockwell. Great story.
